Feb 02 2010: Wilco (USA) to Helsinki and Tampere

American alternative rock band Wilco will perform at Kulttuuritalo, Helsinki on May 20th and at Pakkahuone, Tampere the following night. Having played the most acclaimed rock show of last autumn at Helsinki Festival's Huvila Tent, the band return to Finland after only a brief waiting.

Combining folk, americana, alternative rock and alt country, Wilco are one of today's most significant American bands. By far, the band have released seven studio albums which include classics ”Summerteeth” (1999), ”Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” (2002), ”A Ghost is Born” (2004) and ”Wilco (The Album) (2009)”. Soundi recently chose "Wilco (The Album)" as the best album of the year and the band's masterpiece "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" was voted as the second best album of last decade by Radio Helsinki. "Jesus, Etc." from the album is the most played track of all times on Radio Helsinki. Before returning to Finland, Wilco will tour in North America, Japan, Australia and Europe.

The concert at Kulttuuritalo is all ages but the one at Pakkahuone is 18+. Both concerts are organized in co-operation with Soundi magazine and Ylex radio. Tickets to Kulttuuritalo cost 49€ +possible handling charge and tickets to Pakkahuone 46€ +possible handling charge. Tickets to both concerts will be available at Tiketti & Lippupalvelu from February 8th on.
