One of the most talked about pop newcomers, Swedish Prince of Assyria will play his first club show in Finland at Tavastia on February 12th. Even though the artist basically came out of the blue, he has already been compared to José González, The National and Leonard Cohen.

Prince of Assyria, who in civvy street goes by the name of Ninos Dankha, was born in Iraq but moved to Sweden with his family at the age of one. The artist took the Swedish pop scene by surprise with the release of his first single "What Ever You Want" but the real revelation was yet to come as his debut album "Missing Note", released in November, became an international surprise hit. The numbered first edition of the album with hand-made covers is already nearly sold out. Prince of Assyria's sentimental, atmospheric and subtly arranged folk and indie songs tell stories about love and loss. The ten songs on "Missing Note" describe Dankha's experiences of growing up as an emigrant in a foreign culture.

Today, Prince of Assyria is promoting his album in Finland and performs at Stupido Shop, Helsinki and on Maria! talk show on Nelonen. Advance tickets are available at Tiketti for the price of 12€ +possible handling charge. Tickets at the door cost 14€.
