Nov 30 2009: Billy Talent (CAN) to Helsinki Ice Hall
Massively popular Canadian Billy Talent will perform in Helsinki Ice Hall on February 8th. Combining energetic alternative rock, punk and post hardcore, the hard-working band have played together for over 15 years. Having met each other in high school and started their musical career under the name Pezz, the band had a huge following in their native Canada already in the 90's. International success was bound to follow the release of their debut album as Billy Talent, "I", in 2003 as it was bound to nothing but grow after years of intensive gigging and the release of their sophomore album "ll" (2006).
Billy Talent's latest album "lll" was released in the summer, hitting the third spot on the Finnish album charts and staying amongst the most sold records week after week. Worldwide, the band have sold over two million records. Billy Talent's most renowned songs include radio hits ”Try Honesty”, ”Red Flag”, ”Fallen Leaves”, ”Rusted from the Rain” and ”Devil on My Shoulder”. Over the years, the band have toured with, for example, Rise Against, My Chemical Romance and Rancid. By far, the band have visited Finland four times: on Ruisrock's and Provinssirock's main stages, at sold out Tavastia and as a special surprise guest with My Chemical Romance.
The all ages concert is organised in cooperation with The Voice and Sue magazine.
