Nov 19 2009: Ecstatic Sunshine (USA) and Jason Urick (USA) to Semifinal

American avant rock collective Ecstatic Sunshine and experimental electronic music artist Jason Urick arrive in Finland for a show at Helsinki's Semifinal on February 2nd.

Since their formation in 2005, Ecstatic Sunshine's instrumental music has evolved into more and more minimalist style, to be found somewhere in the middle grounds between Animal Collective, Glenn Branca and Harmonia. The band's third album "Yesterday's Work" was released earlier in November by Hoss Records.

Renowned for the late noise rock band Wzt Hearts, Jason Urick's debut solo album was released earlier this year by Thrill Jockey. "Husbands" received great reviews all around the world and earned comparisons to, for example, Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream and Stars Of The Lid.

The evening will be opened by domestic Tomutonttu. Tickets cost 8€ + possible handling charge, advance sale at Tiketti.
