Nov 16 2009: Cult of Luna (SWE) to Finland

Swedish post metal band Cult of Luna arrive in Finland for two shows in the beginning of 2010. The eight-piece group play at Tavastia on February 26th and at Lutakko the next evening.

Founded in 1998, Cult of Luna started their career with doom metal but their sound quickly evolved into Neurosis and Isis styled heavy post metal. The band’s third full length ”Salvation” (2003) made them renowned worldwide and earned them shows in Australia and North America. Last year, Cult of Luna released their fifth album ”Eternal Kingdom” which was a step to an even darker sound with faster tempos and almost all clean singing parts replaced with gruffs. The album was critically acclaimed and one of the band’s career’s best sellers. Cult of Luna’s next release, book/audio package ”Eviga Riket” will be out early next year.

Advance tickets for Tavastia are available at Tiketti from November 18th on for the price of 15€ +handling charge. Tickets at the door cost 17€. Advance tickets for Lutakko are available at www.jelmu.net from November 18th on for the price of 12€ (Jelmu members 10€). Same pricing applies at the door.
