American The Gaslight Anthem will arrive in Finland in winter. One of today's most successful new punk rock bands will perform at Tavastia on November 2.

During the last two years, The Gaslight Anthem have established themselves amongst younger generation and older music fans alike. The band's music has been described as an updated combination of Bruce Springsteen and The Clash where energetic, straightforward punk rock meets traditional American folk and soul. The Gaslight Anthem's frontman Brian Fallon's voice and lyrics have been compared to early Springsteen and The Gaslight Anthem and The Boss have even played shows together.

Founded in New Jersey in 2005, The Gaslight Anthem began active touring right from the start. They broke through after the release of their sophomore album "The '59 Sound" (2008) which was received very warmly by fans and critics alike. With the album, the band established themselves as one of America's hottest alternative groups.

The Gaslight Anthem's third album, "American Slang", was released mid-June and the band will tour intensively the following months. According to Fallon and the first reviews, the new album continues the themes of "The ´59 Sound" with an even more personal touch to it.

The Gaslight Anthem have visited Finland twice before. In spring 2009, the band played at sold-out Tavastia and a few months later, they performed at Ruisrock. Tickets to the forthcoming show cost 18€ +possible handling charge and they will be available at Tiketti on July 1. Tickets at the door cost 20€.
