May 12 2010: AMERICAN OK GO FINALLY TO FINLAND
Probably best known for their innovative music videos, American indie rock band OK Go will finally pay their first visit to Finland. The band will perform at Tavastia on August 24 and at Oulu Music Video Festival the next evening.
Founded in Chicago in 1998, OK Go broke through with their sophomore album "Oh No" in 2005. The amazing treadmill video for the single "Here It Goes Again" became a YouTube hit with over 50 million hits and the band was also awarded a Grammy later on.
OK Go's latest album, melancholic yet danceable "Of Blue Colour of the Sky" was released in January. The album is produced by Dave Fridmann who is also known for his work with The Flaming Lips and MGMT. The band's latest video for the single "This Too Shall Pass" has also become a YouTube hit with 6 million views in only a week.
OK Go's music has been described as a combination of Beck, The Flaming Lips and Prince. Previously the band have toured with the likes of Weezer, Snow Patrol and MGMT.
