What do you get? Well let me tell you... you get an amazing record called "Cooking with... Evilsons" guaranteed to satisfy your skankin' needs.
In the summer of 2001 the band Evilsons was founded by four youngsters whose taste in music varied from punk and ska to reggae and blues.
In January 2001 the band recorded a five-song EP "De Mysteriis dom Skathanas". The EP was sold out twice and helped the band to create a respectable name in the scene. "All I Do" from the EP got on the play lists' of radio stations and actually achieved a number one position at Radio X3M's (nationwide) official chart.
At the end of 2003 the band signed to Fullhouse Records, a label that earlier mostly had been releasing heavier hardcore-music. This for its part proves how Evilsons has managed to break boundaries between different music genres, and can be enjoyed by listeners with different musical taste and background. Evilsons has been on tour with, and supported bands like Bombshell Rocks, Promoe and NINE which shows that Evilsons can spice up any kind of party.
Due to the tight schedule with the shows, the recording sessions had to wait until February 2004 when Evilsons finally had the chance to hit the studio to record their debut full-length album. 'Petas City Rockers' featured 11 tracks (+ 2 bonus-songs) of absolutely exuberant ska-punk that even made the most rigid Finn dance 'til the brisk of dawn.
After over a year and a half of sweet gigs in almost every corner of Finland (and beyond) the 'Sons hit the studio once again. This time with a fulltime organ-player ("Maha" Sutinen) and a new drummer (Matti Evilson). The 'Sons recorded their best album to date at Seawolf Studios, in the beautiful surroundings of Suomenlinna, with producers Hannu Leiden and Mikko Majanen.
This time the band relied more that ever on great melodies, a more varied set of songs and they rocked out tighter that ever. Evilsons cooked together a mix of ska, reggae, a tiny bit of punk, rock 'n' roll and even some blues resulting in a nice dish of totally unique punky reggae!
One other major change was made by the band. Even though they were satisfied with being on Fullhouse Records they decided to take one step up and change record label.
...and as one of the highlights of their career they were invited to join the number one indie-label in Finland, Stupido Records.
