Circle Takes The Square is an experimental punk band known for their fusion of the melodic with the chaotic, bound together within meticulously crafted, epic compositions. Since the turn of the century, CTTS has been hammering out their unique brand of apocalyptic hardcore, characterized by founding members Kathleen Stubelek (bass), and Drew Speziale's (guitar) dual vocal onslaught, which ranges from soft-spoken chants and whispers, to abrasively cathartic screams.
The recent addition of drummer Caleb Collins (ex-Mare), and long-time friend of the band, David Rabitor on guitar, has helped CTTS reach refined levels of technicality, brutal intensity, as well as occasional folk-inspired moments which call to mind choir-based hymnals from some forgotten, ancient rite.
After a three year hiatus, the band released their "Rites of Initiation" EP in August of 2011, which contains four new tracks from the forthcoming full length, Decomposition Volume I, to be released early in 2012.
From January to February 2012, Circle Takes The Square's touring line-up of Kathleen, Drew, and Caleb, will bring their poetic mayhem to Europe for the first time ever, and will revisit the U.K., in a tour to coincide with the unveiling of their latest, long-awaited musical offering.
