American alternative rock band Blonde Redhead will arrive in Finland on their album release tour in the autumn. The band will perform at Virgin Oil Co. on September 24.
Founded by Japanese vocalist/bassist Kazu Makino and Italian-American twin brothers Simone and Amadeo Pace in New York in early 90s, Blonde Redhead started their career with challenging noise rock in the style of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine. Nowadays influences from dream pop, electronic music and distorted indie rock are equally evident in the band's sound.
Blonde Redhead broke through internationally with their seventh album "23" in 2007. "23" is the band's most poppy album and it lead the trio to some of the most important alternative music festivals in the world like Coachella, Primavera and ATP.
Blonde Redhead's eighth album "Penny Sparkle" will be released on September 13. The opening track "Here Sometimes" is now available for free download at the band's website at www.blonde-redhead.com.
Blonde Redhead have visited Finland only once before in 2008 when they played at sold-out Tavastia.
Tickets to the forthcoming show cost 33€ +possible handling charge and they will be available at Tiketti on June 30. Tickets at the door cost 35€.
