Founded in 2006 by vocalist / guitarist Brian King and drummer Dave Browse, Japandroids are one of today's hottest indie bands in the world. Their debut album "Post-Nothing" (2009) was selected as one of the best releases of 2009 by Pitchfork, Stereogum, Spin and NME, to mention a few. Japandroids will release an ep collection "No Singles" in May and also a series of five vinyl singles in limited editions during the ongoing year. The first part of the series, "Art Czars" is already sold out.
Japandroid's music has been described as a combination of Nirvana's and Mudhoney's grunge sound, Dinosaur Jr.'s and Fugazi's 90's alternative rock and No Age's and Death From Above 1979's modern indie sound. The band have shared stages with the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers and Surfer Blood and this summer, they will perform, for example, at Roskilde, Hove and Primavera festivals.
