American garage group The Cynics will finally pay their long-awaited first visit to Finland. The band will perform at Bar Loose on May 20.
Led by guitarist Gregg Kostelich and vocalist Michael Kastelic, The Cynics were founded in Pittsburgh in 1983. The band have gone under numerous line-up changes and the founding duo Kostelich-Kastelic are the group's only remaining original members. Leaning on fuzzed ultra-distorted guitars and moaning vocals, The Cynics are a straight-forward grunged-out punk rock band to the bone but over the years, they have flirted with 60's extreme punk, folk rock and even r'n'b.
The Cynics announced a hiatus after five successful studio albums in 1994 but returned to studio and stages soon after the turn of the millennium. They have since released two acclaimed albums "Living Is the Best Revenge" (2002) and "Here We Are" (2007).
Tickets to the show cost 17€ +possible handling charge and they are available at Tiketti. Tickets at the door cost 18€.
