Combining technical hardcore, metal and punk rock, American Converge will return to Finland in summer. Sharing the throne of today's most important math core bands with The Dillinger Escape Plan, the band will perform at Nosturi on July 6th.
Founded in 1990, Converge are best known for their modern hardcore classic album "Jane Doe" (2001) and their latest, seventh album "Axe to Fall" (2009) that was selected as one of the best albums of the year by Rock Sound, Terrorizer, Kerrang! and several other media. The most successful record of their career features musicians, for example, from Neurosis, Cave In and Hatebreed.
Converge are currently touring in Australia and later in spring, they will embark on a massive North American tour. In summer, it's finally time to treat Europe. Previously, Converge have visited Finland in spring 2005 at Nosturi and in summer 2008 at Ilosaarirock.
The stage will be warmed up by a top Finnish hardcore name Lighthouse Project who are currently finishing their third full-length that goes by the working title "Atonement". The album is due later this year.
The concert is all ages and it is organized in co-operation with Rokkizine. Tickets cost 16€ +handling charge and they are available at Tiketti and Lippupalvelu.
