Formerly known as Final Fantasy, indie musician Owen Pallett will arrive in Finland on his forthcoming world tour. The artist performs at Tavastia on June 2nd.
Till late adolescence, Pallett had mostly played and studied classical music. He released his first indie music album "Has a Good Home" as Final Fantasy in 2005. His sophomore album "He Poos Clouds" (2006) gained worldwide recognition and won a Canadian Grammy.
Pallett gave up his alias Final Fantasy in the end of last year and he released his first album as Owen Pallett in January. Recorded in four different countries, long-awaited "Heartland" is a seamless blend of indie music and massive orchestrations. Chosen as "Best New Music" by Pitchfork, the album features, for example, Czech's symphony orchestra and Arcade Fire's drummer Jeremy Gara.
Before his own breakthrough, Pallett arranged Arcade Fire's strings and played in their live line-up. He has also worked with Pet Shop Boys, Fucked Up and Grizzly Bear, to name but a few. Previously, Pallett has visited last year's Flow Festival and Kuudes Linja in 2007.
Tickets cost 20€ +possible handling charge and they will be available at tiketti on February 22nd. Tickets at the door cost 22€.
