Canadian garage punk artist Mark Sultan returns to Helsinki to play at Bar Loose on March 14th. Previously, he has visited Finland for a solo show in autumn 2008 and with The King Khan & BBQ in the beginning of 2009.
Dedicated for raw and primitive rock music since early 90's, Mark Sultan is best known as the vocalist of The Spaceshits, the drumming vocalist of Les Sexareenos and the sole member of BBQ. He also plays in The King Khan & BBQ duo and in The Almighty Defenders. "The Sultan of Montreal" has also worked with legendary garage band Oblivians and more current top names like Black Lips and Demon's Claws.
Combining primitive rock'n'roll, garage punk, soul and Velvet Underground styled psychedelic rock, Mark Sultan released his first solo album "The Sultanic Verses" in 2007. The album received a warm welcome and Sultan was named as the Gerry Roslie of today. His sophomore album "$" will be released on April 13th. Mark Sultan and Bloodshot Bill's project The Ding-Dongs will also release their debut album in March.
