BRENDAN PERRY (UK)
April 4 2010 @ Nosturi, Helsinki
Dead Can Dance legend, singer and multi instrumentalist Brendan Perry arrives in Finland as part of his massive European tour in April. The show takes place at Nosturi, Helsinki on April 4th.
Founded in Australia in 1981 by its frontman Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, Dead Can Dance were one of the most significant post punk / goth bands of all times and their influence can still be heard in modern alternative music. The band invented "dark wave", a mixture of goth rock, world music and classical music, and released seven studio albums. Over the years, dozens of bands from Bauhaus to Paradise Lost and from The Gathering to Ride have covered Dead Can Dance's songs.
After the band split up in 1998, Brendan Perry started a solo career and released critically acclaimed "Eye Of The Hunter" in 1999. Afterwards he took up residence in Ireland where he has concentrated on theatre and film productions. Now Perry is back working with his solo material - his sophomore album "Ark" will be released in spring.
The show at Nosturi is all ages and the doors open at 7 pm. Tickets cost 20€ +possible handling charge and they will be available at Tiketti and Lippupalvelu on February 11th.
