Mysterious electronic music project jj will arrive in Helsinki for one of their first shows ever. The weekly Misf*ts club with its resident dj’s Erkko and Marko Makelove welcome jj to Redrum on Thursday, January 7th.
Even though jj are doing their best to stay out of the limelight by refusing to set up websites or Myspace profiles and not giving interviews or posing in photos, they are quickly becoming the next big Swedish electro hit. The project’s first single ”jj n° 1” has been compared to The Avalanches, Saint Etienne and The Knife and the release of their debut album ”jj n° 2” did nothing but raised the ante. As typical of artists in the so called Gothenburg scene, jj is about beautiful pop melodies and tranquil rhythm. ”Sweet, sweet mystique!” as Pin Point Music puts it.
